Alumni moves to rebuild Ekiti school, seeks stakeholder support

The Worldwide President, Christ’s School Ado Ekiti Alumni Association, Kunle Jinadu, has canvassed the support of members and philanthropists for the project to rebuild their alma mater.

Jinadu, who said the old students would not abandon the school, said, “We are going forward to renew the school under the renewal agenda.

The entire group of old students is sourcing money to come and rebuild Christ School entirely. It will be in the tune of billions of naira”.

The Alumni President spoke in Ado Ekiti during a reception organised by the 1979/84 Set of the Alumni Association for its member, Niyi Adebayo, on his recent appointment as Ekiti State Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Evaluation by Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Jinadu, who lauded Oyebanji for considering Adebayo worthy of the appointment, however, advised the commissioner, “Watch your back, watch what you do, stand for the truth, and do the right things all the time”.

The 1979/84 Set Chairman, Olu Fowobaje, hailed Adebayo for his accomplishments in his chosen career and the appointment, describing it as “a remarkable achievement within our ranks” and “a moment to reflect on our shared journey”.

Fowobaje said, “We are a testament to the fact that the education we received in our formative years has equipped us to make meaningful contributions to society.

We must continue to support and inspire each other as we venture forward in our individual pursuits.

“Let this occasion be a reminder of the enduring bonds we have built and the importance of staying connected.

Together, we can continue to make positive changes and impact our communities, our alma mater, and the lives of those around us”.

In his appreciation speech, Adebayo, who thanked his classmates for the gesture, said, which he said showed they were not leaving him on his own and that he would continue to be a good ambassador.

The commissioner said, “For me, it is a feeling of elation, a feeling of excitement. It is actually interesting and very encouraging that your classmates put together this kind of reception in your honour to express solidarity and to thank God for how far he has brought you as a professional.”
