Almajiri school proprietors commend Tinubu over appointment of Ja’afar, Idris

Nigeria’s President, Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been commended for the appointment of new leadership for the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

The commendation was made by the Association of Masu Karatun Allo Na Tsanganya Nigeria (Association of Tsangaya Schools) in a press statement signed by its National Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi.

Recall that a few days ago, the President appointed Brigadier General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) as the Chairman of the Board of the Commission, while Dr Idris Muhammad Sani is to serve as the Executive Secretary/CEO.

According to the Association, this development is a clear demonstration of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to reinvigorating the teaching of the Holy Qur’an and addressing the myriad of problems plaguing the Tsangaya schools, as well as improving the wellbeing of Almajiri.

The statement noted that Lawal Jafaru Isa is an astute educationist and administrator with a proven track record in his career, as well as serving as the Military Administrator of Kaduna State.

The Association expressed confidence that his appointment could be attributed as the “best decision” taken by President Tinubu to holistically bring sustainable development to Qur’anic teaching and learning, welfare of Alarammomi (teachers), and ensure access to quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children.

“While congratulating the new leadership, I urged them to adopt an open-door policy and engage Tsangaya organizations to fast-track the successful implementation of the program to facilitate sustainable development in the sector,” the release further stated.
