A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Monday, adjourned a case of alleged N2.5 billion fraud filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the impeached Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Olakunle Oluomo and two others.
Oluomo was docked alongside two the Clerk of the House, Adeyemo Adedeji and the Assembly accountant, Dayo Samuel respectively.
The trio, who appeared in court on Monday, were alleged to have misappropriated N2.5bn public funds in 2022.
However, the matter was adjourned by Justice O.O Okeke, till 29th February and March 1 for hearing, because Counsel of EFCC could not make the sitting.
Tribune Online recalled that Oluomo was impeached in a notice signed by 18 out of 26 lawmakers, last Tuesday.
He was levelled with allegations bordering on high handedness, gross misconduct, arrogance, poor leadership style, lack of focus and transparency and pitching members against themselves.
The erstwhile Speakernhad, however, described his impeachment as illegal, and vowed to seek justice in the law court.
