Alleged abduction: Melaye announces own freedom on Twitter

SENATOR Dino Melaye has announced his freedom from his alleged abductors via his Twitter handle.

Melaye representing Kogi West, in the Senate, on Friday, said he was freed after spending 11 hours with his captors.

Announcing his freedom via his Twitter handle @dino_melaye, Melaye said, he spent 11 hours in the wilderness.

His post reads: “I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatised but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom only I trust. They will continue to try. We shall overcome!!!”

He, however, did not state the reason he was abducted, and how he regained freedom.

His fellow lawmaker, Senator Ben Murray Bruce had, on Thursday, announced Melaye’s abduction by unknown men while on his way to Kogi State to answer a court charge.

Bruce also made the announcement via his own Twitter handle.
