Alaba Lawson lived a life of service — Oyinlola

Published by

A former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on Thursday described the death of Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson, as a great loss to humanity.

Oyinlola said this while on a condolence visit to the family of the late chief in Abeokuta. He was accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Omolola Oyinlola.

Writing in the condolence register, Oyinlola said the death of Iyalode was “devastating to all those who knew” her.

While noting that she lived a life of service to God and humanity, Oyinlola prayed to God to grant her soul eternal rest.

Chief (Mrs.) Oyinlola, in her condolence message, said the deceased’s death was “painful and devastating,” but said consolation was that she came, saw, and conquered.”

Chief (Mrs.) Lawson died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 72. She was, until her death, the National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture.

Her death was announced in a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, Abdul Rahman Maku.

Prince Oyinlola and his wife were received at the late Iyalode’s Abeokuta residence by her immediate family members.
