Akwa Ibom LG poll: Itu Chairman-elect, Nkutt, pledges people-centric govt

The Chairman-elect of Itu Local Government, Akwa Ibom State in the just concluded Local Government Elections, Mr. Ubong Wilson Nkutt (Kuti), has pledge to run a people-centric government built on the principles of inclusivity, consultation, participation, and collaboration.

Nkutt’s pledge was contained in an appreciation press release to the people of Itu Local Government Area shortly after his victory was announced and made available to Tribune Online on Sunday.

In the release, he pledged the administration’s readiness to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the citizens, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Mr. Ubong Nkutt, who contested under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), won a total of 30, 372 votes as announced by the returning officer for the LGA, Mr. Ime Effiong.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and humility as I address you today, following my announcement as the Chairman-elect of our beloved Local Government Area, with a total of 30,372 votes by Mr Ime Effiong, the returning officer for Itu in the just concluded Local Government election, .

“Our collective efforts have yielded a resounding victory.

“I extend my deepest appreciation to each and every one of you for standing by me throughout this journey, from the moment I aspired to lead, to my candidacy, the campaigns, and ultimately, the elections.

“Your unwavering support has been the driving force behind this triumph.

“As we embark on this new chapter in our Local Government’s history, I pledge to run a people-centric government built on the principles of inclusivity, consultation, participation, and collaboration.

“Our administration will prioritize the needs and aspirations of our citizens, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

“We will work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our community, from infrastructure development to economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and social welfare.

“We will foster an environment conducive for growth, innovation, and progress”. Nkutt pledged.

He however solicited the continued support and partnership of the people in his strive to build a better future for Itu.

“Together, we will create opportunities and harness our potentials for the overall good of the Local Government Area.

I sincerely thank you for this mandate, even as I am committed to serving you with integrity, transparency, and accountability”. He stressed.
