Political Head, Akorede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ayoade Olatunde, has distributed solar-powered lights to all communities across the LCDA.

Olatunde, who has resolved that all promises by the present administration to the people of the locality are kept, hinted that no stone will be left unturned to promote and protect the welfare of the people.

He explained that the distribution of the solar-powered lights was just a tip of the iceberg, disclosing that the second phase of the project would commence soon.

Speaking at the event, former publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and the chairmanship candidate of Oluyole Local Government Area in the forthcoming local government poll,  Mr Akeem Olatunji, expressed gratitude to the people of Akorede LCDA for their and support for Olatunde.

Describing Oluyole Local Government and Akorede LCDA as one, he promised to ensure that there is healthy relationship between the main council and the LCDA by the time he becomes chairman.

Olatunji further stressed that title of chairman was not paramount to him other than to ensure that Oluyole /Akorede as a whole enjoy the dividends of democracy.

In his address, Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Eniayewu Kehinde, saluted the courage of Olatunde, on how he prioritised his people’s wellbeing despite paucity of funds in the council and pledged the management’s support for his administration at all times.

In their separate remarks, the representatives from communities across wards expressed gratitude to the council boss for always being prompt in attending to any community issues brought to him.

Present at the event were political stalwarts, including the secretary to the LCDA, Olubodun Bolarinwa, among others.
