Akeredolu’s emergence will aid South-West integration —Oyo APC

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has said that the emergence of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the next governor of Ondo State would bring the people of the state into mainstream politics and facilitate the realisation of the much-touted regional integration among South West states.

In its congratulatory message to the governor-elect and the people of Ondo State, and personally signed by the state chairman, Chief Akin Oke, Oyo APC said Akeredolu’s victory was a pointer to the fact that Nigerians were a forward-looking people.

“Akeredolu and the APC in Ondo State have reaped the fruits of courage, faith in God Almighty and hard work this time, having tried unsuccessfully in 2012. Quoting Aketi himself, to God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from this stormy blast, be the glory, honour and praise.

“The governor-elect, who is an accomplished legal practitioner, has added another feather to his cap as a huge success in the field of politics. He demonstrated great zeal and optimism in his journey through party primaries and the November 26 poll in which he defeated all others in a keen contest.

“We salute the good people of Ondo State for making it possible this time and we welcome them on board as they join the mainstream politics which is premised on the change mantra.

“Henceforth in Ondo State, the sun shall shine without any hindrance and the breeze of good governance, purposeful and result-oriented leadership will come the way of the masses. Therefore, we urge the people of the state to remain calm and optimistic as they patiently await the inauguration of a government they can call their own,” the party said.
