Governor Rotimi Akeredolu
ONDO State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Friday stopped his convoy to rescue some accident victims along Owo /Ikare road.
The governor who joined the good Samaritan at the scene of the accident to rescue the victims ordered the injured to be taken to the Federal Medical Center, Owo.
It was gathered that the 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus with registration number FKJ 155 XM was23 on its way to Lagos from Abuja when a trailer rammed into the bus injuring all the passengers in the bus.
The trailer driver who was heading towards Abuja however, did not wait to attend to the victims but zoomed off after seeing the level of damage.
However, the governor, who was returning from a project tour of the Oba Akoko – Ikun Akoko bridge met the helpless victims on the road and ordered that the injured be taken to the FMC, Owo.
Speaking on their ordeal, one of the passengers explained that the trailer was coming from the Owo and heading towards Akoko but lost control and brushed the 18 seater vehicle.

He said many of the passengers sustained various degree of injuries, saying the driver of the trailer failed to wait after the incident but commended governor Akeredolu for rescuing them.
The governor had earlier visited an ongoing project site along the Owo-Ikare road.
He assured that his administration is determined to make the people the focus of its policies, and vowed that the Government will not relent to continue to put smiles on the faces of the people.
