Ajaero: Shelve proposed strike action, be patient with Tinubu— Oluwo of Iwo

A first-class monarch and the Oluwo Of Iwo land, Oba Abdolrosheed Adewale Akanbi on Thursday charged the leadership of the  Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to have a rethink on its planned nationwide strike.
The royal father made the charge during the 2023 annual celebration of  Supremacy of God festival tagged: ” Odun Olodumare”, held in his palace.
At the celebration where, religious leaders from different sects mobilized their followers to sing praises in honouring the king of kings and His supremacy, the traditional ruler appealed to them to be patient with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who he said , would take care of workers welfare and that of Nigerians in no distance time.
“NLC need to keep the president on its toes, they need to remind him of his responsibilities. Don’t strike, but let him know that he must do the bidding of Nigerians”.
“This is just temporary hardship, subsidy is not for the poor man. No country in the world subsidize fuel, what should be subsidize is housing and transportation”.
“NLC should be patient so that we can have a clear head to take the country forward. We are talking to the president because we are close to our people”.
” Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s government so that he could prove himself said traditional rulers are talking to the president because they’re close to the people.
“If this government does something wrong, I will be the first person to criticize the president or any governor, nobody can dethrone me, you can see that I am celebrating God who is un-dethronable”.
“We know that things are tough and hard for Nigerians, but they should know that this present government is not the one that created this hardship and that is why Nigerians needs to be patient with the government of President Bola Tinubu”.
“Let him prove himself, he has put capable hands in his government, we have seen him talking about the problems of this country eloquently, this mean it is on his heart to resolve them”.
“I trust and I believe that this present government of Bola Tinubu meant well. He has taken the bull by the horns. Many have led the country and lack boldness to do what he did by removing the fuel subsidy.”
Speaking on the celebration of Olodumare (Almighty God), the monarch said, “I set aside the day to celebrate God in a special way. We call on God every day but today is a special day to celebrate God because, he is the owner of the throne”.
In their own remarks at the event, the duo of Oba Olofa of Ofa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye and Alagbeda of Agbeda , Oba Adesoji Adeniyi, expressed optimism that, the country battered economy would soon become boom .
They called on Nigerians to be copious in prayer for redemption of the country, expressing confidence that, the greatness of the country would soon be witnessed by all and sundry through prayers and steadfastness.
The monarchs who further appealed to them to pray for peace of the country, assured that, the present administration under the leadership of Tinubu would resolve the economic crisis confronting the country.
