According to her, the Humanitarian awards is towards promoting humanitarian ambitions and good will within nations to tackle problems, lack of good will within our nations which has resulted to the many problems facing the world today.
“Politics divide the people but one’s good will unite the people. Our Humanitarian awards is not about politics but to create as many architects of change and transformation in the world”.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, ‘Breaking The Silence’, she said that the objective is to concentrate on the change and growth of every woman, passing information that allows women to integrate their experiences and knowledge, enabling them to have the hope, courage and tools needed to develop and move forward in a positive way. Deborah added that the challenges faced in Nigeria are daunting and efforts must be made towards ensuring the magnitude of the challenge does not paralyse the system and hence mobilise the best and most strategic resources.
She revealed that participants, guests and speakers are expected from United States of America (USA), Europe, Asia and Africa with the keynote address from notable citizens from across the globe; 500 participants, 100 topics, 10 sessions, 12 speakers and 30 awards.
“In attendance will be all ambassadors of embassies in Nigeria, Federal and State Ministries of Women Affairs, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Head of Delegations, UN, UNESCO, UNWTO, Africa Union and so many others.
“It is to help other women to share what they are going through. There will be four categories. Linda Ikeji, Olufunso Amosun, Omolewa Ahmed, Kokun Foundation, John Momoh, Nike Art Gallery, Richard Mofe Damijo, Mrs. Nike Akande, Omotola Jolade, Ben Bruce, Mrs Aisha Buhari and others have been nominated”.
