THE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr Segun Ogunsanya has charged individuals and corporate organisations in Nigeria on the need to help the less-privileged in the society, through the art of giving, in order to make the society a better place.
Speaking to guests at the kick- off of the third season of Airtel Touching Lives, the popular philanthropy programme, sponsored by the telecoms services provider, the Airtel boss stated that the programme, since its launch in 2015 had succeeded in positively impacting the lives of Nigerians.
According to him, those accomplishments had been a source of encouragement the telecommunication company needed to keep the show going every year.
“We are inspired to continue to touch the lives of underprivileged Nigerians through this platform and to also motivate other privileged Nigerians to contribute their quota in making our society better.
“We are calling individuals and corporate organisations to join this noble cause of giving back to the society because we believe that there are many kind-hearted, empathetic and selfless Nigerians that are willing to render succour to underprivileged people,” he stated.
The third season of the popular philanthropy programme, was premiered by the telecommunications services provider, in Lagos, recently, with prominent public officials, celebrities and captains of industry in attendance.
