The 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Saturday organised a Chief of Air Staff (CAS) parley with veterans, providing assurances of protection and cooperation.
The parley, the first of its kind in the Air Force, took place at the Owerri Headquarters of the Command and attracted a large gathering of Nigerian Air Force veterans.
In his remarks, the Commander of the 211 Quick Response Group, Air Commodore D.E. Bello, explained that the initiative was introduced by the Chief of Air Staff as part of efforts to engage with veterans and understand their concerns.
He stated that the parley, which is intended to become an annual event, would not only offer veterans an opportunity to interact with the command but also serve as a platform for addressing their welfare needs.
The Commander revealed that the event included health talks to educate veterans on maintaining good health and ensuring a healthy lifestyle.
He urged the veterans to utilise the Air Force medical unit for any health-related issues, emphasising the importance of seeking prompt medical attention.
He said: “Feel free to visit the Air Force medical unit. Consult the doctors and nurses for your treatment at any time.”
