Air Force Commander advises terrorists, miscreants to lay down arms in Imo

The Commander 211 Quick Response Group Nigerian Air Force Owerri, Commodore David Eneye Bello has advised terrorists and miscreants in Imo state to lay down their arms and embrace peace.

The 2024 Annual Base Socio- cultural activities was held weekend at the headquarters of the 211 Quick Response Group, along Air Port road Ngor Opkala, Imo State.

The Commander in an interview with newsmen reminded the terrorists that they are already fighting a war that has been won adding that the only good that they could do to themselves is to lay down their arms and join hands to develop the state.

Bello pointed out that the Command is celebrating the success of Nigerian Air Force in their fight against terrorists made possible the assistance of the Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar

He equally commended the Chief of Air Staff for organizing a parley for the Nigerian Air Force Veterans which has demonstrated strong support and brought joy to them.In his address earlier, Commodore Bello expressed joy that the fight by the Unit against terrorists and criminal activities in Imo State in collaboration with other security agencies has made significant and commendable progress

According to him, it has resulted in a sharp decline in the activities of IPOB and created relatiely safe environment which people are enjoying.

He said, “Our fight against terrorists and criminal activities in Imo State, the Unit in collaboration with other security agencies has made significant and commendable progress”

While welcoming people to the annual Base Socio-cultural activities, the Commander pointed out that it marks an important milestone in their Unit’s calendar even as they come together to celebrate their diversity, foster comradeship and strengthen the bonds that units them.

He said: “as members of Armed Forces, we are often called upon to make sacrifices and put our duties first”

Bello described it important that they make out time to relax, recharge and reconnect with one another..

The ceremony featured series of activities which include “Tug War, cultural dances from ethnic groups in attendance amongst others

Heads of security agencies in the state present at the event include representative of the 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, representative of the Commander Naval Base Oguta, representative of Imo State Commissioner, representative of Comptroller of Correctional Services and that of the Commander NSCDC amongst others.
