Minister of Finance, Zainab Usman
FOLLOWING near rock bottom positioning of Nigeria on the new World Bank Human Capital Development ranking, Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed has called on community service organisations, the private sector, traditional leaders and development partners to foster a national dialogue on critical human capital challenges.
The dialogue would be geared towards finding country-led solutions along with the government.
Some of the challenges include demography, stunting and education.

Ahmed, in a statement issued in Abuja, said the urgent call for action requires all Nigerians to work tirelessly toward building the human capital base for a prosperous and peaceful Nigeria.
“We can do better because we have done better and we have to do it for the sake of our children,” she stated.
She, however, indicated that years of under-investment in Human Capital cannot be addressed through policies and plans alone; suggesting that more must be done because the key to success is devising strategies for effective implementation of high-impact interventions.
