Ahmadiyya world leader counsels youths on virtue of patience

Published by

THE Worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has enjoined young members of the Jama’at under the aegis of Waqf-e-nau Ijtema (Dedicated Children to the Will of Allah) to control their temper and show patience at all times.

Ahmad gave the advice during the first national conference of Waqf-e-nau Ijtema in Nigeria, held at the Ijiaye/Ojokoro, Lagos headquarters of the Jama’at.

The Ahmadiyya leader, who was represented by the Missionary-in-Charge, Maulvi Afzaal Rauf Sahib, said youths should consider the pain of other people as though it was theirs and give comfort to them.

“It is very easy to display good behaviour in front of a few people occasionally or to appear open-hearted over those matters where you do not have a personal interest. However, the real test lies in when you yourself have a personal interest or face some difficulties.

“It is at such times that the true character and moral fibre of a person are shown and so, as members of Waqf-e-nau, you should remain truthful and good-mannered at all times and in all circumstances.

“When it comes to morality and spirituality, always seek to progress and advance. Never think that you have achieved all that is required and have now fulfilled your objectives. A true believer should never become satisfied but should always seek to increase his relationship with Allah the Almighty and to increase in righteousness.

“If you have this spirit, then Insha’Allah (God willing), you will be successful because Allah the Almighty helps those who are ever restless in their efforts to gain His nearness,” the khalif said.

Addressing the female Waqf-e-nau, Ahmad said girls were the most fortunate because their rights and status had been established and eternally protected by Allah and His noble Prophet.

He, therefore, called on the girls to take to career in teaching and medical fields to help the Ahmadiyya Muslim community run the various schools and hospitals established around the world.

Hazrat Masroor Ahmad also enjoined all Ahmadi Muslims to view the Holy Qur’an as the guiding light at all times and base their decisions on the teachings of Islam.

In his opening remark, the Amir Sahib (National President) Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Dr Mashu’ud Fashola, prayed for the parents and dedicated children, even as he appreciated God for giving Nigeria the opportunity to host the first Waqf-e-nau Ijtema.
