YOUTHS in the country have been told to key into the policy of agriculture of the Federal Government to take themselves out of poverty.

The Head of Development Finance Office, Central Bank of Nigeria, Ibadan branch, Mr Sodiq Ajayi, gave the advice at the 2017 business seminar of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) , Oyo State Area Unit, held in Ibadan.

According to him, agriculture remains a viable investment, especially with the decision of the government to restrict importation to only necessary items.

Ajayi noted that the government had lined up series of incentives for investors in the sector through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), an action which he said had made it more lucrative.

He then urged Nigerians, particularly unemployed youths, to join the growing number of Nigerians who are maximising the opportunities that exist in the agricultural sector.

He added that the nation’s economy had been boosted by recent activities in the agricultural sector.

Chairman, MSSN, Oyo State Area Unit, Malam Shakirullah Adedoja, stated that the desire to improve the economic fortune of members informed the organisation of the two-day event.

He urged Muslim youths to attach little importance to white-collar jobs and focus on profitable ventures such as agriculture in the face of present realities.
