The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ms Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, said that the unity and stability of the country were sacrosanct.
According to Animashaun-Ajiboye, the party condemns all voices that spew hate and incite the polity for selfish reasons.
While calling on the Federal Government to deal with any person or group of persons that undermine the integrity and unity of Nigeria, YDP urged all groups to appreciate the country’s diversity.
“Stability as well as unity is sacrosanct, while respect for and upholding the rule of law under equity and justice are fundamental factors.”
“YDP condemns all voices that spew hate and incite the polity for selfish reasons.”
“The party therefore calls on the Federal Government to take concrete actions to deal with any person or group of persons that undermine the integrity and unity of Nigeria.”
The party also condemned the recent attacks in Mambilla, Taraba, adding that the security of lives and property should not be taken for granted.
“YDP appreciates the rights of individuals and groups to talk about issues that concern them within the confines of the law.”
“And we want to implore the youth not to be used as tools to carry out dangerous, self-centred and myopic agenda which can only lead to bloodshed, misery and exclusion.’’
The party also said that drastic economic reform was essential now, more than ever, to provide alternative ideologies with short and long term goals that would be beneficial to every Nigerian.
