Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency has disbursed about N400 million to communities for the Nigeria-COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) projects.
This was disclosed by the General Manager of the agency, Chief Momoh Dauda in a meeting with desk officers from line ministries.
Chief Momoh said the projects were being funded under the social services infrastructure of the NG-CARES programme which the agency is implementing.
According to the general manager, 19 communities and one vulnerable group had been funded for different projects that would cushion their conditions and increase their access to social services infrastructure.
The general manager further stated that the projects being funded across sectors included water, education, health and sanitation based on community and group needs.
Momoh said that at least, 40 micro projects were expected to be completed and put in use in the next two months when the World Bank Independent Verification Agent (IVA) will be in the state.
He expressed confidence in the competence of the desk officers and assurance of the agency’s support and conducive working environment.
Momoh restated that the project will positively impact the lives of the people, adding that no fewer than 30,000 people will benefit from the projects.
