Again, five die on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Again, another five people died on Thursday in a road accident around Fidiwo bridge, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, as a result of wrongful overtaking and excessive speed.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Public Education Officer for the Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe, in a statement, said the accident happened at about 2.48 pm.

She said that the crash involved nine persons, including six females and three male adults.

Three females and two males lost their lives in the crash which involved two vehicles, a prime bus red colour with registration number MUS191HA and a Toyota Camry car marked with AKD754BG gold colour.

She said that the injured ones had been taken to a private hospital for treatment while the bodies of the victims were deposited at a morgue in Ipara Remo.

The FRSC Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, reiterated the need for motorists to observe the speed limit on the highway.
