AFTON Chemical Corporation has appointed Cormart Nigeria Plc as its official distributor of lubricants additives in Nigeria.
Afton Chemical Corporation, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, United States, is a world leader in performance additives across fuels, lubricants and specialty chemicals while Cormart Nigeria Plc is one of the largest local multi-functional chemical distributors in Nigeria.
The new relationship brings Afton’s world class lubricants additive product portfolio back into the Nigerian market.
The Sales Manager Sub-Saharan Africa for Afton Chemical Corporation, Mr Sagar Sen, explained that the partnership will offer Nigerian lubricants blenders the opportunity to access Afton’s technologically advanced products with the comfort of having local stock in Nigeria, thus, minimising working capital costs, import and production delays and optimising their supply chains.
“Despite the current economic conditions in Nigeria, this partnership goes to prove that global companies like Afton Chemical Corp are still investing for the long term into the African continent supporting local companies, creating wider economic opportunities and investing resources on training and development,” Mr Sen added.
In his remarks, B2B General Manager at Cormart Nigeria plc, Mr Manoj Nair, stated that Cormart is optimally placed to service the local market requirements in Nigeria through its vast network of distribution centres across Nigeria, adding that “it is aiming to enter a segment of the market where its expertise in customer service, technical advice and proactive supply chain solutions could provide real value for our customers.”
The Nigerian lubricants market is one of the largest in Africa and is a key focus for Afton with its extensive range of gear oil and automatic transmission fluid additives; engine oil additives for passenger car, heavy duty diesel and railroad; additives for industrial products, such as wind turbine lubricants, industrial gear oils, turbine oils, hydraulic oils, grease, slideway oils and metalworking fluids.
