With a population of over 1 billion and 60 percent of that population being below the age of 24, electronics technologies and solutions company, Panasonic Corporation, has described the African market as holding huge opportunities for growth.
Making this declaration at the launching of its new range of air conditioners, in Lagos, to mark its 100 years of doing business, around the globe, the company also stated that it would continue to act as solutions provider to the consumers in Africa by constantly innovating and coming up with specific products, tailored to meet their needs.
In his keynote address at the unveiling of the new a/c offerings in Lagos, the Head, Africa Division, North East/West Africa, Panasonic, Mr. Hiroyuki Shibutani, described the decision to unveil the A/C offerings in Nigeria, as an eloquent testimony to the importance of the nation’s electronic market to the company.
“Nigeria remains the most important market in Africa, especially when its huge population and economy of scale are taken into consideration.
It holds a lot of hope for investors, desirous of enhancing their bottom-lines and providing solutions to the array of needs in the continent,” he argued.
He added that the company had been able to overcome the foreign exchange issue of the past few years, to effectively serve the Nigerian consumers.
He stated that with the expected improvement in consumers’ purchasing power, the company would be embarking on how to enhance its visibility and expand its tentacles to the rural areas.
Mr. Shibutani explained that the new Aerowings A/C series deliver precision cooling through powerful controlled airflow, which automatically shifts air direction skywards once the set temperature is reached.
He revealed that the shower cooling air conditioner is equipped with Intelligent Sensors which enables it to detect potential waste of energy using the Human Activity Sensor and Sunlight Sensor.
Also speaking at the event, Head, Panasonic Marketing Services, Nigeria, Mr. Dipendu Goon, described the new Air Conditioners, as having some unique features that would truly add value to the consumers.
One of such, he added, is the automatic voltage adjustment device which regulates power usage when power supply is unstable.
Describing the newly-introduced range as reliable, rugged and durable, the Promoter, Panaserv Nigeria Limited, the official sales partners of Panasonic in Nigeria, Mr. Suraj Rupani, explained that the company is presently collaborating with relevant regulatory authorities to ensure that such products are not adulterated, after being introduced into the market.
