Adultery: An act worth desisting from

Adultery has been a troubling issue in our society for some time.

Adultery is a sexual relationship in which a man or woman has another partner other than his or her own spouse. Adultery maliciously interferes with marriage relationships and sometimes opens the door to divorce.

Adultery also affects the children when they find out about the relationship between their father or mother with another married man or woman.

It can make the children think that it is a minor or normal thing to do when they (the children) eventually get married.

It is also an embarrassment to them when it is later leaked out to the community. The children will find it hard to relate freely or play with their mates.

Committing adultery can sometimes be due to  carelessness. Some people think that it arises  because the affected person isn’t receiving all his or her emotional requirements at home.

Others think it is a grievous habit. Consider the story of a married man and his lover whose  bodies were discovered in a Toyota corolla vehicle at Ogba area in Lagos State on the 29th October.

The man was said to be wearing a wedding ring on, while the woman was also reportedly married with four children.

The two lovers were not married to each other. The police also  discovered that they were half-naked, which indicated that they were engaged in sexual intercourse inside the car when death met them at the spot.

It is high time married people stopped committing adultery and stayed with their spouses.

However, it is up to a person to decide whether  he or she is going to commit adultery and serve as a lesson to others.
