ADSC boss, Oluwafemi, hails Tinubu for appointing CEOs of NPA, ICRC from mainstream

The Chief Executive Director of the Africa Development Studies Center (ADSC), Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing the Chief Executives of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) from the mainstream of the Public Service.

Recall that President Tinubu, over the weekend, appointed Dr Abubakar Dantosho as the Managing Director of NPA and Mr Jobson Ewalefoh as the new Director-General of the ICRC.

In a statement released over the weekend, Oluwafemi lauded President Tinubu for his adherence to due process, stating:

“President Tinubu followed due process in ensuring that the Civil Service procedure was strictly adhered to, avoiding unnecessary acrimony. This should be the standard procedure in the engagement of chief executives of sensitive organisations in Nigeria. The President has exhibited a rare move that will give staffers of organizations the confidence that the right thing would be done in such sensitive appointments.”

Oluwafemi further congratulated the newly appointed chief executives, expressing his confidence in their abilities:

“I congratulate both chief executives. They are men of proven integrity and will undoubtedly move both bodies to greater heights of excellence.”

He also commended the President for appointing seasoned professionals and sound politicians to other key offices, charging the appointees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism:

“I commend the President for also appointing seasoned professionals and sound politicians to other offices. I urge all appointees to live above board, add value to the country, and support the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President. It is imperative that they remain dedicated and professional in their duties, contributing positively to national development.”

Oluwafemi’s statement underscores the importance of integrity and professionalism in public service appointments, highlighting the need for adherence to due process and the appointment of qualified individuals to key positions in the country.
