Ado-Awaye to celebrate Iyake festival

THE Alado of Ado-Awaye in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, has disclosed that this year’s Iyake International Festival will hold between November 13 and 16.

Oba Folakanmi disclosed this in a press release he co-signed with the chairman of the festival’s planning committee, Bola Olalere.

The release noted that the festival will kick-off on November 13 with a movie premiere and youth carnival followed by festival discuss with focus on agribusiness while honourary awards will be given to notable individuals of the community by the monarch on November 14.

On November 15, the community members will climb the ancestral mountain, among other activities.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the state governor, Seyi Makinde will lead other dignitaries to the event as a special guest of honour on November 16.

It was also learnt that dignitaries expected at the festival are the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Lola Ade John; Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun and the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chiftancy Matters, Ademola Ojo.

The royal father of the day is the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Adeyeri III.
