Filmed on location in King’s Cross in London, the visuals for ‘Brodies’ see Adlib The Journeyman showing off his friends to the world, as the lyrics of the song promote, in a fun, dapper and celebratory way. Inspired by a scene from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘All The Stars’ music video, the ‘Brodies’ video puts forward a message of black excellence and brotherhood between Adlib The Journeyman and his close friends.
Taking his inspiration from legendary musician Lagbaja, who he mirrors by wearing a mask that is also reminiscent of West African masquerades, as well as the likes of Fela Kuti, Pasuma and Eldee the Don, Adlib wants to use his music, which is often described as ‘conscious Afrobeats’, to positively impact on society in Nigeria and Africa, and is not afraid of tackling the important issues through his music.
