Adenaiye becomes ACREDA’s chairman, seeks members’ cooperation

Members of Alade Community Residential Estate Development Association (ACREDA), Olusanya, Off Ring Road in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State have elected officers that will oversee the affairs of the community for the next four years.

At the election conducted by the electoral committee set up by the community and headed by Mr Larus Nwanagu, Reverend Christopher Onuoha (committee secretary) and Mrs O. F. Oshun (member), Engineer Oladele Adenaiye was elected as the new chairman while Chief M.O. Ogunrinde was elected as vice chairman.

Nigerian Tribune learnt that all the officers who were elected returned unopposed, but the electoral committee decided to conduct the election to make the process official and also for the record purposes.

Apart from Adenaiye and Ogunrinde who became the chairman and vice chairman respectfully, others are  Babatola Abinusawa (general secretary);  Adekunle Gbadeyan (assistant general-secretary); Mama Bisi Alejo (treasurer); Sunday Amosun (financial secretary); Matthew Olalekan Adebanjo (PRO); Femi Ojeaburu  (chief security officer 1); Aiku Olaoke Sunday (chief security officer 2) while Alhaji Olasunkanmi Ogunjobi was elected as Special Adviser on Security matters.

Speaking shortly after the election, the new chairman, Adenaiye thanked every member of the community for counting him worthy of the position, promised to repay the confidence reposed in him and other executive members and will not disappoint them.

“If I can say without mincing words, this is the first time this community will conduct an election to offices unlike it used to be in the past. I’m assuring you that I will serve with the fear of God and do the job diligently. I believe that with your cooperation and help of God, we will move this community forward togetherness,” Adenaiye said.

He advised all residents to always attend the monthly meeting at a designated place to deliberate on how to move the community forward.

Also, the vice chairman, Chief Ogunrinde corroborated Adenaiye’s promises and pledged to use all the powers at his disposal to support him (Adenaiye) and other executive members to make sure that the community witness unprecedented development.

Earlier, chairman of the electoral committee, Mr Nwanagu told Nigerian Tribune that the officers were declared winners after being certified and got the majority votes of the people.

He further said that those who have held one position or the other in the past such as chairman, vice chairman, secretary, among others will henceforth become Ex-officio members, just as they need their words of advice.

The new officers will be inaugurated on May 25 .
