Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has approved payment of terminal benefits for deceased pensioners of Primary school teachers and Local Government Staff in the state.
Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Akibu Ibrahim, who made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Osogbo, called on relatives of the deceased to visit the Local Government Staff Pension Bureau Office to check their names for payment.
The statement noted that Adeleke will always take the welfare of the Osun people paramount, adding that the Governor is resolved to continue payment of inherited debt, as well as offsetting the backlog of workers’ salaries and pensions owed to retirees in the state.
Part of the statement read, “This is to inform the general public that the Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has approved almost Four hundred million naira to 670 deceased who were retirees under the old pension scheme, that are Local Government Staff and Primary school teachers.
“Sequel to this, the affected deceased relatives are to visit the Local Government Staff Pension Bureau for proper documentation and payment.”
