Adekunle Gold strikes gold with About 30 album

It was 2015 when Olamide, founder of YBNL record label, unveiled Adekunle Gold to fans as one of the acts to watch out for. Some people said he would not ‘blow,’ others said he needed time. But Gold kept his card to his chest and struck at the right moment with Sade.

Like a man destined for greatness, Gold struck gold with Sade. It was his first official single under YBNL and the song became an instant success that would later announce him as another music sensation that would make the African continent proud.

From the lyrics to the sound and percussion, Sade appeared to have come with a bit of luck as it struck the right chord among his fans, and the journey of the young man’s rise to fame began on the right footing.

Call him the man of the moment, one may only be stating the obvious, as Gold brings out self in a new element and continues to tick all the boxes. Many had feared his style of music would not sell but Gold said his plan was to keep releasing timeless songs.

Days back, Gold’s much-anticipated 11-track album was released to the public and has been rated as one of the best in recent times.

This profound statement from some of the big names in the music industry might have triggered the emotional side of the singer as he took to his twitter to share the story behind the new project.

Emotional Gold said the album was a true reflection of his life, struggles, fears, pleasures and even faith. At different times, he admitted that fears had gripped him over what the future holds for him in music but he held on to his faith and kept pushing on.

Gold in his tweet said: “I am really emotional right now. I could cry happy tears. This album, #About30, is a reflection of my heart, my fears, my pleasures, my pain, my losses and my faith. . With the love you give me? I would do it again and again and again and one more time.”

For Gold, his new project is an embodiment of hard work and grace, but he assured his fans that there is more to come. They surely can’t wait to see what he has in stock for them.
