Adeboye
AS concerns mount over sex-for-grade scandals in Nigerian universities, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is organising a special prayer for lecturers, students and a host of others.
Senior university lecturers are being caught pants down in the said scandal across ivory towers, with the most recent being lecturers in the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The popular Nigerian cleric was a senior lecturer in the department of Mathematics in UNILAG before calling it quits with lecturing to become a full time preacher.
Also included in the special prayer slated for November 3 are professors, with a couple already losing their once-glittering careers to sexual escapades with their female students.
Also expected at the programme scheduled to take place at the ministry’s headquarters are teachers, youth corps members and all the families of the special attendees.

Teachers in primary and post-primary schools have also been caught in the act, with a former supervisor of Chrisland School in Lagos, Adegboyega Adenekan, being jailed 60 years for defiling a two-year-old pupil of the school.
Justice Sybil Nwaka of Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court found the 47 year-old guilty of a lone-count charge of child defilement.
The RCCG programme tagged ‘Rising Star,’ will commence at 7.30 a.m. at RCCG national headquarters, 1-9 Redemption Way, Ebute Metta, Lagos.
To facilitate smooth movement to the event, free transportation is being provided with designated take-off points at Oyingbo, Sabo, Yaba, Mushin, Idi-Oro, Oshodi and Redemption bus stop.
Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos branch, had earlier said that prayer was required to help the fallen lecturers.
Its secretary, Elder Israel Akinadewo, said the role of the church was to keep.
