Adamawa LG Poll: PDP sweeps all elective positions

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the chairmanship positions in all the 21 local government areas of Adamawa.

Briefing Journalists at its head office,  Chairman of  Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ASIEC) Alhaji Mohammed Umar said election was conducted in all the 226 wards and 4104 polling units across the state.

“As at this afternoon 3:30 pm we have received reports from all the polling units and as it stands Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all the chairmanship positions in the 21 local government areas of the state.

The chairman also stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 225 out of 226 wards in the state while New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Councilorship candidate in Demsa ward, Demsa local government area.

All the winners will be issued certificates of returns tomorrow Monday, the chairman said.

It would recalled that 12 of the 19 political parties took part in the election conducted yesterday amidst serious voter apathy in most units across the state.

All Progressive Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Labour Party ( LP) had announced withdrawal from the contest siting the composition of members of Adamawa state Independent Electoral Commission (ASIEC) as belonging to the ruling PDP in the state.
