Adamawa journalist abducted, body found dumped behind office

THE body of a broadcaster with Fombina FM in Yola, Adamawa State, Maxwell Nashan, has been discovered in a bush at Vunokilan in Gerei Local Government Area of state, just behind the station he worked for.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that women farmers found the body while on their way to their farms on Thursday morning.

Confirming the discovery, a colleague of the deceased journalist, who pleaded anonymity, said they were already working with security agencies for his body to be taken to the mortuary.

The colleague said: “He was taken from his house, tied up, attacked with machetes and dumped behind his office.

“He was later found by some women going to the farm this morning (Thursday).

“The women, on sighting the body, raised an alarm, which attracted officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who tried to rescue him but he died before reaching the hospital.”
