Adamawa: FCAH&PT supports youths with skills in poultry production

The Federal Government, through the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Vom, Plateau State, recently empowered youths in Adamawa State with skills in poultry production to reduce poverty and eradicate unemployment.

The three-day training workshop was held in collaboration with Kannon Royal Resources Limited at the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State.

Participants received training in various areas of the poultry business, including brooding, management practices, biosecurity and disease management, processing, value addition, and marketing.

During the opening ceremony, Chairman of Kannon Royal Resources Ltd, Mr. Abdulrazak Raji, said, “There is no better way to build a strong nation than by empowering its youths.

“If we can save the youths from negative tendencies, harness their potential for the right purposes, act honestly towards them, and provide proper orientation, I am sure they would contribute to food security, a decent society free of social vices, universal harmony, and promote global peace.”

Raji also advised the youths to take the vocational training seriously to achieve these goals.

In his opening remarks, the Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health & Production Technology, Vom, encouraged the youths to stay focused and embrace the livestock business as a valuable source of income.

Participants, who benefited from practical experience and knowledge in poultry business management, stated that the skills gained would lead to better income, a reduction in unemployment, improved welfare, and poverty alleviation.

A total of 80 youths were trained and empowered with starter packs.
