Adamawa: Be responsible to your people, Finitri tells new council bosses

Published by

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has charged the 21 newly-elected local government council chairmen and 226 councillors across the state to uphold responsibility to their constituents.

Fintiri delivered this charge on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected council chairmen in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.

He commended the people of the state for their trust in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the overwhelming votes received by the party in the recent council elections as evidence.

Governor Fintiri emphasised the need for the newly-elected officials to serve the people diligently, emphasising that the era of absenteeism is over.

Highlighting transparency and accountability, the governor urged the chairmen to reject corruption and remain accountable to the electorate.

He reminded them that their performance would directly impact the fortunes of the PDP, urging them to approach their responsibilities with seriousness.

He also sought support and prayers from the public for the newly elected leaders and the state government.
