THE National Working Committee (NWC) of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), on Wednesday, suspended three National Executive members over forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election.
It, therefore, affirmed Chief Olusola Oke as its gubernatorial flagbearer in the coming election in the state.
The suspended members were the Deputy National Chairman of the party, North, Alhaji Shehu Musa, National Legal Adviser, Mr. Kehinde Aworele and the National Organising secretary, Mr. Abdalla Ibrahim pending the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party.
Its National Chairman, Mr. Joseph Avazi, who read the communique after the meeting in Abuja, said they were all suspended for illegal meeting held in Akure, Ondo State, which contravened the position of the party’s constitution.
He stressed that the suspended members held illegal meeting and presented false information to the public without the consent of the party.
Avazi, who announced Alhaji Magaji Kwairanga as the acting Deputy National Chairman, North, while deputies legal adviser and deputy
national organizing secretary would act as legal adviser and National organising secretary respectively.
According to him, they were suspended for the presentation of false information to the public without the consent of the party. The lawyer
among them which expected to have understood the party constitution granted the communique without party’s consent.
“We are referring their suspension to the NEC and the NEC will take the decision on that later. The NEC meeting should hold as agreed in
the last NWC meeting.
“That the Board of Trustees (BOT) is yet to be properly constituted and that our leader, former National Chairman, Senator Mojisoluwa
Akinfenwa should be treated with utmost respect.
The party has mandated the secretary, North East, Vice chairman, south and Professor, Akuche to see that states without executives should
hold their congresses soonest,” he added.
