After Sylvester Oromoni of Dowen College was allegedly murdered by his seniors in the boarding house at Dowen College, many people have taken to social media to share their ordeals in school, as well as call out their bullies.
Beverly Osu, Uche Elendu, were some of the Nollywood actresses who were called out online for reportedly bulling old schoolmates of theirs in secondary school. This happened after Uche joined other online protesters, on her Instagram page @ucheelendu calling to Dowen College and the boys who beat up Sylvester to be reprimanded by the proper authorities.
“The pain, the agony. Oh, this generation and the wickedness in their hearts, what specie of animals could have done this? What kind of football is this o @dowencollegelagos shey he played the ball with his mouth??? I can’timagine what this young boy’s mother is going through now, ive been in severe pain and my heart won’t stop beating fast. I am a mother!!! I have children in schools.
“This cannot happen!!!!! Dowen college @dowencollegelagos you are not capable of being an institution for learning if this can happen at this stage of education in your premises. Produce those untrained boys and their parents. Train your child in the way he should grow and when he does, he won’t depart from it. O lord save our children ohhh fine boy… may your soul rip”.
An angry user took to her Instagram page @ij_dinobi to write some choice words for the actress on her story which read,
“There is one atcress that bullied my sister in secondary school. She too writing #justiceforsylvester. Double standards sha! My sister saw this girl after she graduated at a wedding, and she was still scared her name is ucheelendu. FGGC Owerri @instablog9ja @ucheelendu #justiceforsylvester. Let’s call them out, Let’s cleanse the society. No judgement but we all need to do right by our kids. It starts with you and I.”
Following the lady’s claims, Uche Elendu came out on social media to apologise to the lady’s sister.
She wrote, “Haaaa God have mercy!!! 22 years after… The exaggeration tho.. pls who is your sister? Ill like to give her a big hug and apologise for probably punishing her for being at the wrong place at the wrong time, or disobeying the school rules, Who is a bully? I know I was a strict senior back in school but I didn’t punish unjustly neither did I inflict injury on my juniors or beat them up, the school was totally against that, Boarding school should just be scrapped, I went through the same drilling from my seniors but I can’t call that bullying … haa me that they will knock on the head and I’ll see 1 million stars in 5 seconds… cos really juniors cant escape being sent on errands or punished, I bet your sister and all the juniors I punished didn’t also perform their duties as prefects and seniors in their time. If you didn’t attend a boarding school abegcomot body. #justiceforsylvester.”
