Actress Funlola Aofiyebi preaches ‘Never stop learning’ with her latest achievement

Nollywood actress Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi, who is widely known for her role as Brenda in the M-net hit series, ‘Tinsel’ recently took to social media to inspire people to never stop seeking knowledge.

Funlola shared a story on how she journeyed to South Africa recently to gather more knowledge on acting, after 21 years of experience so as to broaden her horizon. She met with widely celebrated South African actor/director Dorothy Gould, who served as her acting coach throughout her time in South Africa.

The actress further revealed how she couldn’t help but channel her inner fangirl as she had always been a fan of Dorothy’s works – even expressing how she wished she had more time to spend with the legend, who has had a career and experience spanning over 30 years in film, TV, stage play, and more.

Funlola went on to verbalize how she learned so much from Dorothy, despite her own long years of experience.

Some part of her Instagram post reads “Knowledge truly is power because after a few sessions with Ms Dorothy, I feel like I can conquer the world. Lol!! As if I knew nothing about acting prior to meeting her…… Whoever you are reading this, whatever it is that you do, I employ you to 1. Acquire knowledge 2. Develop your skills 3. Step out of your comfort zone 4. Go for Gold 5. Don’t take NO for an answer.”

Several fans and social media users have since shared the story; citing the positivity embedded in it and pointing out the steps contained in it as recommendable for attaining success.

Funlola Aofiyebi Raimi is regarded as one of the pioneers of the new school Nollywood – starring in Tinsel for a decade; which marks her longest running TV appearance. The actress has starred in several box office hits, mostly as a lead character or a supporting character, including Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Figurine’; a performance that earned her an AMMA nomination.

Over the years, the actress has received international acclaim for her performances – she has also starred in other Nollywood hits, such as ‘Entreat’, ‘Grey Dawn’, among others.
