ACRESAL project seeks traditional rulers’ support in Zamfara

Zamfara Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACRESAL) project, in collaboration with Health Standard Concern Organisation (HESCO), has begun tour to traditional rulers as part of step towards promoting the ACReSAL project and ensuring its successful implementation in the state.

The sensitization and mobilization tour was aimed to brief the traditional rulers and stakeholders on the project’s objectives, progress, benefits, and planned activities, and to seek their guidance and advice on how to ensure effective implementation of ACReSAL projects.

According to the Executive Director HESCO Abdullahi Lawal Bungudu, the main objectives of the visit are to advocate for the project’s importance, sensitize the leaders, and create awareness about the ACRESAL project’s goals and objectives.

“The ACReSAL project in collaboration with focal NGO (HESCO) has embarked on a crucial visit to key traditional leaders covering 2 catchments areas in 3 Local Governments of Zamfara state”. He mentioned.

During the visitation, the team met with the Chairman of the Zamfara Council of Chiefs who is the Emir of Anka Alhaji Muhammad Attahiru Ahmad, Emirs of Talata Mafara, Kaura Namoda, Gusau, and Bungudu where they discussed the project’s potential impact on their communities.

“The visit has provided an opportunity for the team to listen to the stakeholders and gather feedback from the traditional leaders, ensuring that the project is tailored to meet the unique needs of the local communities,” he said.

Nigeria Tribune gathered that HESCO has been engaged by Zamfara State Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes project (ACRESAL) to carry out community sensitization, social mobilization, group formation, capacity building, and impact evaluation for the ACRESAL project in 60 community Interest Groups (CIGs) and intervention sites communities for project sustainability in the state.
