Accord Party’ll lead third force coalition —Ladoja

Published by

National leader of Accord Party and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, on Tuesday, said his party would lead the coalition to mop up all opposition parties into a big third force political platform.

He made this known during the inauguration of state and local government executives of the party at a ceremony held at the party secretariat in Ibadan.

The Osi Olubadan, who aligned with the view expressed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) are not in the best of shape, said it had become imperative for Accord and others to provide a credible alternative platform to the two.

The former governor said he and others were working hard to bring about this and consequently bring about a Nigeria of their dream, a land of abundant life for the citizenry where the basic necessities of life like water, electricity, good roads would not be negotiable.

He stressed the need for the political leadership across the country to be selfless and put the wellbeing of the citizenry above personal gains.

Ladoja charged the new executives of the party to be fair to all councillorship and chairmanship aspirants and ensure that only people’s choices emerge.

He tasked the aggrieved members to return to the party to support the efforts of the leaders and the party officers to win the 2019 election beyond reasonable doubt, wondering why there would be a parallel state congress when such was not experienced at the ward and council congresses.

Leader of the Accord caucus in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Kehinde Oloya, pledged the loyalty of the state eight lawmakers from the party to Ladoja and the party.

He tasked the new party officers to emulate the honesty of the former governor in their dealings with members of the party and charged them to deliver their constituencies to the party in the council elections as well as the 2019 elections.
