Accidental discharge kills Anambra market woman

A middle-aged woman reported to be trading at Mgbaukwu community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State has been allegedly hit and killed by a stray bullet from Udo Ga Achi operative.

A viral video shows where a woman who was hit by a bullet lying lifelessly in the pool of her blood in the market.

In the video, other traders in the market were heard in tears calling on the state governor, Charles Soludo to urgently intervene in the activities of the operatives.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command has commenced an investigation to unravel the cause of the killing.

He promised to issue a statement to that effect.

It was gathered that the operation Udo Ga Achi was officially launched early February 2025 by the governor to fight against insecurity in the state.
