Accident claims life of UNIMAID Professor

The University of Maiduguri community is in mourning following the untimely death of Professor Ruth Haruna, a respected former head of the Department of Business Management.

Professor Haruna tragically lost her life in a freak accident at her residence in Polo, Maiduguri.

According to reports from her family and the Borno State Police Command, the incident occurred when Professor Haruna’s vehicle rolled over her after she had parked it on her sloped driveway, Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA) reported.

“Reports by her family and the Borno State Police Command indicate that Prof. Ruth Haruna tragically lost her life when her own vehicle rolled over her after she parked it on her sloped driveway to open the gate to enter. The university and local community converged to mourn with her husband Professor Wazis Haruna, three children and three grandchildren,” NTA posted on Twitter.
