Access, foundation train 500 women on digital entrepreneurship

The Women Digital Entrepreneurship programme, an initiative spearheaded by Nerdzfactory Foundation in partnership with Access, has successfully empowered 500 women as part of efforts to address the socio-economic challenges faced by women in the country.

This programme, which commenced on April 2, 2024, it was learnt, was aimed to equip and empower women with the essential skills and resources needed to leverage technology and the internet for launching and scaling their businesses.

The latest cohort of the programme was organised because it aligns with the national goal of closing the digital gender gap and promoting women’s entrepreneurship.

It was also learnt that the programme offered a comprehensive curriculum that covered topics such as online business setup, customer acquisition, social media marketing, financial management, and fundraising strategies and participants were equipped with the necessary tools to thrive in the digital economy.

The programme also facilitated opportunities for participants to pitch for grants, enabling them to secure essential capital for their ventures.

Speaking on the success of the programme, Managing Director of Nerdzfactory Foundation, Ade Olowojoba, harped on the importance of empowering women and leveraging technology to drive inclusive economic growth.

“As we celebrate the culmination of yet another successful cohort of the Women Digital Entrepreneurship Programme, we are filled with pride and optimism for the future. Empowering women is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic investment in the socioeconomic development of our nation.

“By providing women with the tools and resources to thrive in the digital economy, we are not only transforming individual lives but also catalysing broader economic growth and prosperity. Let us continue to champion women’s empowerment and harness the power of technology to build a more equitable and prosperous future for all,” he said.
