ACCA pledges support to FG on financial fraud prevention

THE Association of Chartered Certified Accountant, (ACCA) has thrown its weight behind the Federal Government in the fight against corruption, assuring that it will partner the FG in the area of capacity building on anti-corruption and fraud prevention in Nigeria.

Acting Head, ACCA Nigeria, Mr. Olatunji Adedeji said the level of professional ethics displayed by its members in the discharge of their responsibilities, will help check fraudulent activities in any organization they find themselves in the economy.

“One of the things we are proud to be involved in, is that in June we are partnering with the federal government to have an anti-corruption and fraud seminar. This move will take us to the landmark as anticipated”, he said.

The partnership with the government would assist in upholding professional ethics among  its officials across board, he noted, stressing that ACCA’s qualification is not just about passing exams but adhering strictly with the three E’s which are Exams, Experience and Ethics.

The ACCA Connecting Future workshop attended by hundreds of corps members according to the country head is about preparing ACCA students for the future they deserve and to reward excellence.

He said, “The ACCA Connecting Futures workshop is all about connecting the ACCA customers whether it is a prospect, a student, an affiliate or a future itself. It is also about rewarding excellence. Over the last few years, what we have done to

reward excellence in terms of people that passed their exam was to put them in the newspapers.

This time around, we wanted to reward them publicly and let them also share with other students who have been struggling in their ACCA journey that it is actually possible.”
