TRADITIONAL rulers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the auspices of Village Heads Forum in Bwari Area Council, have met to find solutions to the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the area.
He said the meeting was on how to ensure peace and security in their communities.
Chairman of the forum and village head of Jigo, Musa Iya Sazhigwoyi, said the meeting deliberated on how the farmers and herdsmen would live together in peace.
He said that the traditional rulers agreed to set up a dialogue committee which would be interfacing with any group that might have problem with another.
Other measures according to him, was that peaceful steps should always be employed to address any misunderstanding than allowing any persons to take laws into their hands.
He said, “any time there is a problem, let there be a formal complaint to the village head, under whose the area falls. This will make him bring all the parties involved together for peaceful resolution.
“No body should take laws into his hands. This will help to end the issue of clashes between herdsmen and farmers.”
