Gunmen have abducted a landlord and father on Kurape Road, Anguwar Kokosa, Karshi Bypass, Nasarawa State, a town near Abuja, instilling fear among local residents.
The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, August 29, 2024, between 10 and 11 PM, during a heavy rainstorm.
The abductors breached the victim’s property by drilling through the fence and then breaking the window of the master bedroom.

Anonymous neighbors reported that the gunmen, armed with dangerous weapons, seized the man. The victim, unable to alert neighbors or security personnel, was hampered by the noise of his generator, which masked the sounds of the intrusion.
It was later discovered that the victim’s dog had been poisoned the previous day with a piece of meat thrown over the fence.
The dense, tall crops on nearby vacant plots aided the kidnappers in executing their plan. The victim has now been held for over 48 hours, with no sign of release.
The kidnappers have contacted the family with a ransom demand that is reportedly very high.
When the Nigerian Tribune reached out to DSP Ramhan Nansel, Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, for comment, he responded, “Tell the people to report to a police station; I’m not aware of it.”
