General Overseer, Pentecostal Canaan Land Mission Incorporated, Pastor Nick Medo-Uwa, has adduced the problem of leadership in Nigeria to a drop in fatherly standards.
Medo–Uwa stated this ahead of his church’s mid-year thanksgiving service with the theme God’s Faithfulness.
He emphasised the need to celebrate fathers, as those who stood on the shoulders of fathers would go far.
The cleric, who advocated community social responsibility, stated that evil was on the increase, especially, among youths, which could be traced to the inabilities of fathers to bequeath good home training and instill cultural values in their children.
He urged people in leadership positions to see youths as the leaders of tomorrow.
“The government’s role should not start and end at the centre. It must reach down to the roots, while ensuring that policies initiated are made to have positive impact on everyone,” he stated.
