THE Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has lauded the National Universities Commission (NUC), for approving additional 59-degree programmes to doctoral level for the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun.
He gave the kudos in his speech at the 11th Convocation Ceremony of the institution, on Thursday, adding that all the programmes have been granted full accreditation by the regulatory body.
Abiodun also offered automatic employment to the best overall graduating student of the school, Mr Bolatito Olatunde.
The governor urged the graduands to be creative by putting into using the entrepreneurial skills acquired in the course of their academic pursuits.

He said: “I need to note that it will be uncharitable to say that government will employ all of you into the white-collar jobs. But, it is high time you began to think out of the box by considering to be job providers and not job seekers.
“Be creative with all the potentials within you and maximize all opportunities you may find on your way to success. As you go out there, no doubt, you will encounter discouragement, and you might even get tired along the line. But, all that matters is your commitment. So, be patient and persevere. And, at the end of the day, your sweat will become sweet; and, your hard labour will pay off.”
He also commended the university authorities for maintaining a standard in all its activities while declaring that his administration would not condone any form of sexual harassment and indiscipline in any of its institutions.
He described sexual harassment as a thing of shame that should not be allowed in any institutions, where discipline is taken seriously.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, disclosed that the institution has embarked on the process of restructuring the academic programmes, so as to revolutionize the teaching profession and also improve the quality of school services.
Arigbabu noted that the institution was graduating a total of 3,361 students, out of which 37 obtained first-class honours, urging the graduands to utilised skills acquired in their course of study and their choice of entrepreneurship vocation to be self-reliant.
