An abducted medical doctor working with the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Jerry Isogun, who fell victim to hoodlums last Wednesday has been freed by his abductors.

Reports say he was left off the hook at about 8:00 p.m on Thursday after an undisclosed ransom was allegedly paid to the hoodlums.

TribuneOnline gathered on Friday morning that the abductors dumped him in a bush near Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

He was said to be undergoing medical attention at DELSUTH, his place of work as of Friday morning.

The Delta state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, who didn’t respond to enquiries through calls and text message on Thursday, has reportedly confirmed the development to journalists.

Adeleke was quoted as saying: “Yes, he (Isogun) has been released. He was released last night.”

Isogun is president of the Resident Doctors of DELSUTH and was reportedly kidnapped late Wednesday while on his way to his home in Sapele from work.
