Abducted Benue varsity students regain freedom

The Benue State Police Command has promised to arrest the kidnappers of the three students from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Catherine Anene, she stated that the three students who were abducted last week have been rescued.

Anene said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Hassan Yabanet, commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team from Abuja and other security agencies in Benue State for their commitment to the investigation.

The three students were abducted last week on campus, and their abduction triggered a student protest, leading to the university’s closure by the authorities.
