Hope told the court that her husband was initially informed by her parents that she’s an asthmatic patient while he was asking for her hand in marriage but that he accepted to go along with their marriage.
“I got pregnant for him after a year of our marriage in 2004 and after few months he abandoned me with the pregnancy.
“His reasons were that he doesn’t want his children to be asthmatic and cannot continue living with me,” she added.
Hope also disclosed that her husband showed no interest in the upbringing of their child for the past 12 years.
Mr. Anele Mmaduechesi, the petitioner’s lawyer said since 2004, the respondent abandoned his wife without showing any concern since 2004.
The court president, Mr. Philip Williams adjourned the case till August 24 due to the respondent’s absence in court.
